I undertook this project for two primary reasons: First because the people buried in these cemeteries deserve at least a little respect and neglected graves, as someone once said, are a disgraceful thing. Second, to make sure the graves of military veterans, regardless of the conflict they fought in, are documented.

This site is not a cemetery search site. I recommend CemeteryCensus if you’re looking for a specific cemetery in Wilson County, or the Cemetery Indexes created by the Wilson County Genealogical Society that are available at the main Wilson library and from the WCGS itself. The photographs I’m posting here are from some of the cemeteries that are overgrown or endangered in Wilson County. I’ll also post an occasional non-cemetery photograph.
